Pre-Verse

pre-verse.jpg

Two lips quiver and purse

as they exchange unspoken verse

the prophets speak on their love for nature

recounting all the petals

before their words are printed

upon the death of God

and peddled off for profit

Tulips quiver at the sight of purse

as love is sold as something worse

Poetry is only pure pre-verse

but after it is written

it is truly perverse
